General Ledger

The General Ledger in Salon Iris salon software allows tracking of the financial transactions of your business for multiple bank accounts, such as a checking account, business account and savings account. These transactions can be rent payments, utility payments, supplier shipments, written checks, and most other financial transactions that can occur within a business. The General Ledger works very much like an interactive bank account statement. Salon Iris salon software can even calculate the current balance of your account based on what checks have cleared.

Benefits

Some of the major benefits of the Salon Iris General Ledger are as follows:

  • Each entry can be categorized into an unlimited number of custom-built categories.
  • Check printing with automatic check numbering.
  • Automatic stock count update if products are received from a supplier.
  • Automatic retail price changing if wholesale prices change, a new retail price is suggested based on the previous wholesale/retail ratio.
  • Split entry payments.
  • Track multiple accounts so that you can keep records for multiple business accounts or even personal accounts. Salon Iris will keep a separate current balance for each account for you, and allow you to view entries for one or multiple accounts at once.

Split Entries

Additionally, you have the option of splitting an entry. This will cause a single entry to be sub- divided into multiple entries.
For example, a single invoice from a supplier can contain multiple items. This invoice can be entered as a single General Ledger entry using the split feature.
